Some collaborations make sense on paper. Others make sense the moment the cork pops.

At Branch & Barrel Distillery, we’ve always believed whiskey should be a little adventurous. A little curious. Sometimes even a little rebellious. So when the chance came to team up with some of Colorado’s creative breweries, we didn’t hesitate.

The result is a trio of beer-cask finished bourbons that bridge two worlds: the deep, structured character of bourbon and the bold, expressive personality of craft beer.

Three different finishes.
Three Colorado brewery collaborations.
One very good reason to stop by the tasting room.

Let’s take a look at what’s pouring.

Granny Gear

Straight Bourbon finished in Belgian Golden Strong Ale casks
Collaboration with Two22 Brewing

This one starts sweet and nostalgic, then quietly turns up the volume.

Finishing our straight bourbon in Belgian Golden Strong Ale casks brings out a layered sweetness that feels almost dessert-like. The beer barrels add a creamy roundness that softens the edges while amplifying the richness.

Tasting Notes

  • Crème brûlée
  • Moose Tracks ice cream
  • Red berry jam

Rich. Creamy. Comfortingly familiar on the front.
A little dangerous on the back.

It’s the kind of pour that makes people pause mid-sip and say, “Wait… what is that?”

Bumblin’ Around

Straight Bourbon finished in Horchata White Stout casks
Collaboration with Elizabeth Brewing Company

This one drinks like a dessert… until the bourbon reminds you who’s in charge.

The Horchata White Stout casks leave behind a swirl of baking spice and creamy sweetness that wraps around the bourbon like frosting on a cake.

Tasting Notes

  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla cream
  • Maple frosting
  • Butterscotch candy

Soft, rich, and layered with spice.
Dessert in a glass. But make no mistake… it’s still bourbon.

Pub Crawl

Straight High Rye Bourbon finished in Imperial Stout barrels
Collaboration with Denver Brewing Co. and Los Dos Potrillos

If the first two are smooth operators, this one walks in with boots on.

Imperial Stout barrels bring deep roasted character and thick dessert-like richness, while the high rye bourbon backbone keeps everything structured and spicy.

Tasting Notes

  • Caramel
  • Chocolate cake frosting
  • Spice
  • Honey-roasted depth

Bold. Dark. Built for a long night.

This is the pour for stout lovers, bourbon purists, and anyone who believes a good whiskey should leave an impression.

Three Finishes. One Colorado Story.

Each bottle in this series is a snapshot of Colorado’s craft community. Distillers and brewers trading barrels, swapping ideas, and pushing flavor in new directions.

Beer barrels don’t just hold liquid. They carry stories of grain bills, fermentation, and brewing creativity. When bourbon moves in afterward, it picks up those echoes and transforms them into something entirely new.

The result is whiskey that sits right at the crossroads of craft beer and American bourbon.

Available at the Tasting Room

All three releases are available now at the tasting room at Branch & Barrel Distillery.

Whether you’re a craft beer devotee, a bourbon loyalist, or someone who simply enjoys discovering flavors you didn’t expect to love, this lineup was made for you.

Bring a friend.
Order a flight.
Try all three.

Because when beer and bourbon decide to collaborate, things get interesting.
