The Spartans Blend Bourbon was developed by Branch & Barrel to celebrate our formal affiliation with the Colorado Spartans Arena football team. Since the Spartans are a unique football team, we had to create a unique bourbon accordingly!
Spartans Blend is amazingly well-balanced and has nice characteristics of rye and bourbon that work in all the right ways. In this case, it enhances the bourbon’s complexity and adds an intriguing layer to its profile. Grab this bottle, and you’ll be drinking like a Spartan!
Classic Woody Spice
For this first cross-category blend, the Spartan Blend, we combined a barrel of our Rye Whiskey with our traditional Flagship Bourbon. They tastefully married to create a high-rye bourbon that is unmatched by anything else we have ever made! This harmonious fusion offers a unique tasting experience that bridges the gap between two classic American spirits.
Compared to our Flagship high-corn bourbon, this high-rye blend is pretty much like a classic bourbon, but with a good woody spice to it. The addition of rye contributes a distinct spicy, peppery, and somewhat herbal character to the bourbon, with hints of oak, vanilla, and caramel.
Silk In A Glass – Pretty Fly For A BouRye
This bottle has a nicely balanced “classic” profile that goes above and beyond; this is a nice one! It nails the finish too with a great warming depth. With wonderful and somewhat complex notes of butterscotch, lemongrass, spearmint, pumpernickel, candied pecans, vanilla custard, leather, and oak, this 88-proof bottle is like silk in a glass. It’s luscious. It’s also delicious.
Approachable Proof
A great mingling of spirits here, with the nice sweetness of the bourbon rounded out by the spiciness of the rye. With its lower proof, it has a very light touch of heat on the back of the palate with a smooth finish. This bottle is great for sharing with anyone really, but those that will love it most are folks who enjoy and appreciate high-rye bourbons.
